The Snowy Range contains endless snowmobiling opportunities for the novice to the advanced rider.

For those who wish to enjoy a good day of trail riding, there is a total of 315 miles of trails, 201 of which are groomed. These trails lead to some of the most scenic areas of the mountains, so you can fully enjoy the open meadows and jagged peaks that make up this mountain range.

The hundreds of miles of the trail system can lead you to some well known and more secretive access points to the amazing boon-docking opportunities in the backcountry. Challenge your skills in the trees and the steep climbs that are characteristic of the area!

Average snowfall in the range is approximately 21 feet.

Elevations in the area range from 7000 to 11,000 feet. "How's your oxygen?"

Winter temperatures range between 30 degrees to -30 degrees. Conditions can change quickly and dramatically, so come prepared for all the best that a western winter can throw at you!

There is very limited opportunity for food and gas once you leave the traiheads at either Green Rock (which is about a quarter mile down the road from the Snowy Mountain Lodge) or from the community of Albany.

So, please be prepared, bring food, water and watch your fuel gage!
